Meru E(z)RF Service Assurance Manager
First proactive operations and diagnostics system for a true clients’-eye view of the network
Network assurance
Meru has introduced the industry's first proactive diagnostics system for wireless networks. By continuously running test traffic over all network components from the radio link to the backend infrastructure, it gives users assurance that the network is available and meeting performance expectations while boosting operational efficiency for IT.
Manual reactive testing VS. automatic proactive testing
Until now, the closest that wireless networks could get to this was manual testing: Send people out to every corner of the network to run applications or diagnostic suites and see how well different services work. But that doesn't scale well and it's always historical. IT staff can't be everywhere at once; they can't test everything that users need. As a result, wireless management still relies too much on reactive troubleshooting. Problems are not reported until it's already too late, then staff have to waste hours tracking down the root cause of an issue.
Because the virtual clients act just like a real client, E(z)RF Service Assurance Manager can accurately track application performance, monitoring the progress of its injected packets as they travel through the network which results in a measurable network availabilityn throughput, delay and jitter. It tests performance of every component: the air link, the connection between access points and controllers, any necessary authentication, even links to backend wired servers. If there's an issue anywhere in the network, E(z)RF Service Assurance Manager will find it.
Integrated solution
This level of control can be achieved by the use of standard Meru Access Points that will serve clients and act as a virtual client at the same time without concessions on service. No costly overlay sensor network is needed.
